New Now at Manege: Kai Kartio, Amos Rex (Helsinki)

The public art Helsinki museum Amos Rex opened in August 2018 on base of the Amos Anderson museum and the Bio Rex theatre – a masterpiece of Finnish functionalism. The exhibition spaces are hidden underground, the space above them relinquished to the street. Amos Rex director Kai Kartio told about the secret behind this new space’s popularity, what kinds of tasks are demanded of its administration, what upcoming exhibition plans the museum has, how to effectively work with an audience, and what it is like to display dramatically different projects in their space.
