Double Asteroid Redirection Test(DART)

With Python Pygame code, it is shown a simplified animation the first NASA project in changing asteroid orbit. The DART project (English Double Asteroid Redirection Test) involved the launch of an unmanned controlled spacecraft to the double near-Earth asteroid Didymos and the collision of the space probe with the asteroid Dimorphos. As a result of the collision, the orbit of Dimorphos (collision date September 26, 2022) changed so that the time of a complete revolution of Dimorphos around Didymos decreased by 32 minutes. Thus, The results of the cosmic collision are significant because it was the first real-life test of humanity's ability to protect the Earth from potentially catastrophic asteroids. Проект DART (англ. Double Asteroid Redirection Test) предполагал запуск беспилотного управляемого космического аппарата к двойному околоземному астероиду Didymos и столкновение космического зонда с астероидом Dimorphos. В результате столкновения орбита Dimorphos (дата столкновения 26 сентября 2022) изменилась так, что время полного обращения Dimorphos вокруг Didymos уменьшилось на 32 минуты. Таким образом доказана возможность изменения траектории движения астероида в случае, если он представляет опасность столкновения с Землей.
