007 First Light ➤ Review (GR)

IO Interactive, a studio that has spent twenty years honing its skills in games about a bald mercenary in a suit, decided to make a game about the most famous British spy. Only here will you find a story about a young Bond who is only 26 years old. He’s not yet that cool agent in a tuxedo with a martini; he’s an ordinary naval aviation pilot who, after some heroic deed, receives an invitation to the 00 agent training program. However, the very first mission ends badly — he was supposed to catch a traitorous agent, but it didn’t work out. After that, Bond, together with a mentor named Greenway, begins to unravel a whole conspiracy within British intelligence. This is an original story, not connected to the films. Even the agent’s appearance is not based on any of the actors — the developers created their own James Bond specifically for this game. The gameplay here is similar to Hitman — you can complete each mission in different ways. You can sneak around in the shadows and use all sorts of spy gadgets, you can just shoot everyone with a pistol, or you can try to negotiate and persuade your opponents. In general, it’s like in those games about the bald assassin — you get to choose how to act.
