S.AND — The Zeroth album pre-presentation 20/9/26

This video captures the first presentation of S.AND’s “zeroth album” — a collection of demos for two future releases: Brand New Songs and Love Cemetery. The event also introduced two new members: saxophonist Arsenii Budanov and percussionist Egor Dorontsov. The zeroth album is not yet a full album, but a preview of two upcoming records. Brand New Songs features early songs by solo gourfy written in 2014–2018, while Love Cemetery includes both early and later compositions from 2022–2026. The lyrical themes are diverse: love remains central, but solo gourfy also explores landscape, social, and philosophical lyricism, financial abuse, war, and the search for a cozy place in an inner world.  All songs are written by solo gourfy: 1. You (reprise) [41:01] About S.AND S.AND is a young Moscow project formed in 2025 from the creative union of singer-songwriter Sophie Lores-Gurfinkel (aka solo gourfy) and virtuoso guitarist and composer Andrew Panchenko. The name is symbolic: it plays on the singer’s name (S) and the guitarist’s (ANDrew → AND), and according to another version, on the conjunction “AND” — meaning union, partnership, and endless forward movement. The repertoire is based on Sophie’s English-language songs, blending jazz harmony, soul expression, and folk melodiousness. The duo also performs jazz standards and masterpieces by The Beatles, Sting, Amy Winehouse, Stevie Wonder, and others, whose influence is heard in every note. Today S.AND is an intimate acoustic duo, but its members cherish an ambitious dream: to become a full-fledged jazz band with drums, bass, keyboards, and a horn section. Their goal is not just local performances, but a world tour and the status of an international collective. Sophie Lores-Gurfinkel, who grew up on records of British and American classics, has dreamed of London and New York since childhood. Today, a Moscow soul embodies these dreams in music, speaking the language of world jazz and soul, remaining sincere and vulnerable.
