"Wrangel" — English subs and translation

Soviet Union, 1928 Donate & Support: https://donatepay.ru/don/a_life_for_the_czar A poem by Marina Tsvetajeva, part of the "Perekop" cycle about the events of the last months of the Civil War in Southern Russia. Not published during the life of the author because of the frankly White Guard content, unacceptable in the Soviet literature. In the poem, General Wrangel appears to all as a superior hero and avenger for the destroyed Russian fates lives, who is able to turn the tide of the war and end up in Moscow "before the first frosts", but the year of writing - 1928 - makes it clear that this is just an illusion in the soul of the poetess and lyrical feelings about the unfulfilled. The poem was set to music (with some changes in the lyrics) and sung by Aleksandra Bakhchevan. Portrayed by Lt. General Baron Pyotr Wrangel (1878—1928), the hero of the song and one of the most prominent and capable leaders of the White Movement and the last commander of the Armed Forces of Southern Russia. LYRICS (Complete original ones, differing from the video):
