Diary#20. ABC-book/Азбука

"D" – Donbass. Not just a word, Coal is the basis for everything here, But People are even more valuable than coal It's you and me. Donbass is a Russian land. More than 100 days have passed since the beginning of the special operation in Ukraine. During this time, many settlements have been liberated, their inhabitants are returning to peaceful life. Ahead is the complete liberation of Donbass. People will be able to work, create, study again. But no one will forget what happened here for eight years. A generation of children has already grown up, growing up under the roar of shells and the screams of the wounded. For the youngest Donetsk residents, the First Republican Printing House printed the “ABC” – a book from which they will begin to learn the history of their native land for the first time. «This children's bright and kind book will be able to reverse all those tons of dirt and lies that our children have been filled with during these eight years, – Alexander Kofman, Head of the DPR Public Chamber says, – I see with what bright smiles the children in Mariupol read this "ABC-book", and I understand that we are doing everything right». The artist Darina Lysakova had only a month to prepare colorful illustrations for the "ABC-book", the girl was worried, but she managed. «A children's author is someone who, probably, is still a child in his heart, and thanks to this, I feel children, I'm on the same wavelength with them, and I like it… I have seen how children from the Ukrainian side in the released territories read poems in Russian for the first time, it is hard for them, but they are very interested», – Darina says. According to her, the book instills in children the right and important concepts. This is love for the Motherland, for family, for loved ones. «I would like more such books – truthful and teaching good, and not such ABC-books that we found on the released territories that only advertise Nazism», – says Oleg Ilyin, an employee of the First Republican Printing House.
