EN: A short review of the Rhode Island Half Dollar — a commemorative half dollar issued for the 300th anniversary of the founding of the Rhode Island colony (1636–1936). The coin honors one of the first U.S. states, founded by Roger Williams on principles of religious freedom and tolerance. The design featuring an anchor (symbol of hope) and a Native American reflects the colonial past and maritime traditions of the region. This is one of the standout coins from the "golden age" of U.S. commemorative half dollars.
